Job DescriptionInova Children's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chief of Child Neurology to lead our growing pediatric neurology team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children's health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.Inova Children's Neurology is a growing team with expertise in general neurology, fetal-neonatal neurology, epilepsy, neuromuscular, headache, concussion/TBI, neuro-oncology, and hospital care. The Inova Children's Neurology team collaborates in patient care with Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology, Neuroimaging, Neuro-oncology, Genetics, Psychiatry, Developmental Pediatrics, and Neuropathology.Your role includes:Leading a team of child neurologistsCollaborating with other leaders and teams in the inpatient and outpatient setting to support high-quality, mission driven careOutpatient clinicsInpatient consultative services and hospital-based careOpportunities to teach medical students and residentsParticipation in multidisciplinary pediatric care teamsAbout Inova Children's:Inova L.J. Not-for-profit status is eligible for public service loan forgiveness.Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off and paid parental leaveMinimum Qualifications:Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Child NeurologyTraining: Completion of an ACGME Accredited Pediatric Neurology Residency Program.Subspecialty expertise in epilepsy, neuromuscular or sleep would be appreciated but not required for this leadership position.License: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon startPayer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and ability to enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payorMedical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required servicesPreferred Qualifications:3-5 years of clinical practicePrevious Leadership experience or experience building a Pediatric Neurology program
